Student Travel Feature: Oui, Oui Paris

During my freshman year, I took French class. My teacher, Ms. Keenan, told me so many great things about France. I was very tempted to go, so over last summer I got to take an amazing trip to Paris, France. I saw so many things that I thought I’d never see. I started my trip with a tour of the Eiffel Tower. It was an amazing experience, especially the scene from the top of the tower, but the walk up was bad. At the top of the Eiffel Tower, I got to see an extraordinary view of Paris. I will never forget how beautiful the sight from the top of the Eiffel Tower was. I also got to see the Arc de Triomphe, which was also really cool. From the top of the Arc, I got to see the Eiffel Tower light up! Another place I got to go to was the Louvre. I am not really an art person but seeing the Mona Lisa in person was very amazing. The food and desserts in Paris are extraordinary. The crêpes were out of this world and so was Angelina’s hot chocolate. Everyone knows France because of their legendary pastries but the nation also has an amazing history. Château de Versailles was beautiful, and filled with history. I liked it because Marie Antoinette lived there when she was queen.

My favorite thing to see was Notre Dame Cathedral. Sadly, I couldn’t go inside because of the fire there last spring but the architecture of the church is amazing. A scary part of my trip was going into the catacombs. Being sixty feet underground is scary enough, but to make things even more scary there are bones underground with you. It was very neat to walk underground and see the skeletons of many people. The catacombs were probably my second favorite thing on my trip. A few other things I did was go to Disneyland, Sacré-Cœr, and Palais Garnier. Overall my trip was astonishing! It was a once in a lifetime experience and I’m very happy I got to go. For anyone that wants to go to Paris, I would definitely suggest it. Paris is such an amazing city and I will never forget it
