Teacher Feature: Mrs. Desmond Returns to Guide

Billy M. '18, Co-Editor

The Roman community is delighted to welcome Mrs. Mary Desmond back to Broad and Vine. Mrs. Desmond has returned to her position as Director of Guidance. She grew up in Bensalem and attended Bensalem High School. She then pursued her Bachelor of Arts degree at Moravian College and completed graduate studies at La Salle University. She began her career in education at Father Judge in 2004 as a School Counselor. In 2007, she came to our very own Catholic High, and in 2014 she transferred to Archbishop Wood as its Guidance Director. Clearly, she missed her wonderful Cahillites, and now she’s returned. When asked about her thoughts on Roman, she said she “absolutely loves” it. She called it “a wonderful institution,” adding that “all of the boys are wonderful. They’re polite, they hold doors. It’s a great place to be.” As Director of Guidance, Mrs. Desmond has several duties, including the advising of students with college and career, and helping them with personal and academic struggles. “Anything students need assistance with, we are here to help.” We are so happy to have Mrs. Desmond back.
