Freshmen Football Finds Success

Roman Catholic’s Freshman Football team had quite an impressive season. Led by head coach Christian Cowley, the team ended the season with six victories, defeating Cardinal O’Hara, Archbishop Wood, LaSalle, Pennsauken High School, and Bonner-Prendergast. The team played hard, racking up a lot of offensive points, while holding their opponents to low scores. Daniel Miller, a defensive end for the team, has taken in many valuable things during this successful season. He says, “I love playing Roman football because of the bonds I made with my teammates. I’ve made so many new friends and learned a lot of valuable lessons.” He also adds that the team is “like a brotherhood,” a common thread throughout our school. It is this idea of brotherhood that allows all of Roman’s students and student-athletes to perform to the best of their abilities. Let’s hope that this new crop of freshman football players leads to future success at the varsity level.
